Vetting Procedure

We perform the following checks on all startups we work with:

1. Companies House check

• Action: Companies House lookup.
• Verify: Confirm “Active” status and note the incorporation date.

2. People verification

• Action: Check current directors and Persons of Significant Control (PSC).
• Verify: Cross-check director names against LinkedIn profiles for consistency of role and tenure; ensure no “Disqualified director” flags.

3. Financial health snapshot

• Action: Credit check via Experian.
• Verify: Latest funding round or credit risk band; note any County Court Judgments or defaults.

4. Domain & technology signal

• Action: Run BuiltWith or Wappalyzer lookup on the company website.
• Verify: Presence of standard production tech stack (e.g., cloud hosting, TLS certificate, analytics); note domain age via WHOIS.

5. Customer or partner reference

• Action: Request dated one-paragraph testimonial from one paying customer or partner, including name, role, and brief use-case description.
• Verify: Perform customer validity checks using Companies House, Experian and LinkedIn.
